About
whoami
I'm Elroy, also known as tayelroy. This site brings together my security and Web3 projects, technical write-ups, and essays.
In Chronos, I studied automated SSH, Telnet and HTTP traffic using honeypots and AWS honeytokens. The published findings cover October 13–30, 2026: botnet behavior, credential abuse, and the limits of the data collected.
My EVM reconnaissance project explores execution-client fingerprinting through Nmap's scripting engine and JSON-RPC. Right now I'm launching this portfolio; the dated snapshot is on /now. Tools documented in these projects and this site are on /uses.

what I work on
The full case files are on the projects page. The short version:
- Project Chronos — A honeypot-backed mini SOC and published study of SSH, Telnet, HTTP and AWS honeytoken activity.
- http-evm-rpc-info — A Lua NSE script that fingerprints EVM JSON-RPC endpoints using client banners, RPC metadata and fallback heuristics.
writing
Alongside technical research, I write essays on culture and design.Theory of Minionslooks at aesthetic ridiculousness and the appeal of the absurd. The archives bring the essays and technical posts together.
